Sanilac County Parks
Delaware Park has a different kind of story. It is not mainly a campground park. It is a day-use shoreline place, shaped by Delaware Township, the nearby Forestville area, and the simpler tradition of coming to Lake Huron for a few hours of air, water, and open space.
Delaware Park takes its setting and much of its identity from Delaware Township, which was organized in 1858. That township history matters because the park is part of a broader lakeshore landscape of small communities, rural roads, and public access to Lake Huron.
